The Essence of Freedom
Freedom Church of Seattle, a multicultural, community-based, non-denominational, church was organized on June 7, 1997, to promote the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We are a “streets to the suites” ministry with a strong commitment to Christ and Community. As an urban congregation, we aim to affect positive changes in the community by modeling our lives after His example. No one is beyond the reach of unconditional love and the forgiveness of God.
Our mission: Be Holy. Bless our Families. To show every person the love of Jesus.
Our Vision: To build an international church open 24 hours a day, seven days a week that God is pleased with.
History;
In 1990 , God gave Pastor Zachary K. Bruce, Sr. a vision: That he is going to shepherd a congregation in Seattle and name it "Freedom." Freedom signifies that everyone has d does, He gave the name for the church: "Freedom." The word signifies two things: (1) that everyone has the opportunity to experience spiritual freedom in Christ ( John 8:36); and (2) that the church operates from a God mandate to do social justice work so that people might be free.
On June 7, 1997, God officially gave birth to Freedom Church of Seattle to promote the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Thirty-one believers attended the initial prayer and organizational meeting at the Thompson's Point of View restaurant where her presented a three year strategic plan for the new church. Since that initial meeting, Freedom has experienced substantial growth spiritually as well as in membership. With congregants from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
Since 1997, Freedom has experienced growth in membership, ministries, and community service. Expanding in numbers, Freedom has resided in several locations: Seward Park, West Seattle, and our current home in Skyway.
For 24 years, Freedom Church has maintained a strong commitment to Christ sharing the unconditional love and unconditional forgiveness of God. "Love is spoken here" and that is carried out in all aspects of our ministries and our work.
